Q: Which businesses offer a discount to ABG members?
A: A 10% discount is offered at Gardening at Hill Street, GardenHood, Pike Nurseries and Randy’s Perennials and Water Gardens. A 20% discount is offered at Dorough Landscape Company Floral Nursery.

Q: May I visit other gardens with my Atlanta Botanical Garden membership?
Yes! The Atlanta Botanical Garden is a member of the American Horticultural Society’s Reciprocal Admission Program. Your Garden membership offers benefits at over 300 gardens, arboretums and conservatories in North America and the Cayman Islands.
For a list of participating venues and the specific benefits they offer, please visit http://www.ahsgardening.org/gardening-programs/rap/find. To redeem your benefits, present your current membership card to that garden. Please note that the 90 mile exclusion rule stipulates that gardens within 90 miles of each other will not offer reciprocal benefits.
Q: How do I obtain my membership card and guest passes?
A: When you join or renew online or over the phone, your email confirmation states you may pick up your membership cards and guest passes at Admissions on your first visit to the Garden. You can request your cards at the Atlanta or Gainesville location.
If you join or renew by mail, or, if you are at the Supporting level or above, your cards and guest passes will be mailed to you within two weeks of processing your payment.
Q: What is my member number?
A: Your 9-digit member number is located on the front of the card to the right of your name and membership level. Please use this number online to receive member discounts.
Q: If I lose my card, how can I obtain my member number?
A: Go to the Support tab and click on Membership. Click on Find Member Number and follow the instructions. Once your member number is provided, the system gives you the option to purchase tickets or renew your membership. Click on either option and follow the prompts.
Q: How do I get a replacement card?
A: On your next visit to the Garden, simply present your photo ID at Admissions at either the Atlanta or Gainesville location and ask the staff to reprint your card.
Q: Do I have to be with my guests when they use their guest passes?
A: Guests may visit on their own using member guest passes. They must complete the name and address portion on the pass before it will be accepted.
Q: Are guest passes valid at all times?
A: Guest passes may be used during regular operating hours. They are not valid for special events. Regular operating hours include Cocktails in the Garden, Fest-of-Ale (Atlanta) and Wine in the Woodlands (Gainesville). Please refer to Visitor Info for a listing of our seasonal hours.
Q: Are guest passes valid for Garden Lights, Holiday Nights?
A: Garden Lights, Holiday Nights is a special event outside of the Gardens’ regular operating hours. It is a public ticketed event and not a member event. Members receive a discount on their tickets.
Q: Are guest passes valid during the Garden Lights, Holiday Nights Member Preview?
A: Garden Lights, Holiday Nights Member Premiere is an exclusive member event, and guest passes are not valid. However, members may purchase as many discounted tickets as they need in order to bring family and friends.
Q: Are guest passes valid during the Spring Exhibition Member Preview?
A: Guest passes are not valid during the Spring Exhibition Member Preview. For all membership levels (including Individual), we allow 2 adults plus up to five children (3-17) to attend the Spring Exhibition Member Preview. Non-members are welcome to purchase a membership for entry to Member Previews.
Q: Are guest passes valid during Member Evenings?
A: Yes! Guest passes are accepted for Member Evenings at this time. Non-members are welcome to purchase a membership to attend Member Evenings.
Membership Level Benefits
Q: Must a Dual membership or above have two names listed?
A: A second name is not required but you can always bring a guest with you. If one name is listed, you will receive one card; if two names are listed you will receive two cards with both names listed.
If one named member is visiting and the other is not, you may bring a guest. If both named members are visiting, you must use a guest pass for any additional guests.
Q: Who is covered under a Family membership and above?
A: Any membership at Family level and above covers two adults plus children/grandchildren age 3-17. Children under three are free.
Q: Can my live at home college student use my membership?
A: Any child over 17 is not included in your membership and must use a guest pass, unless that child is listed as the secondary name on your membership.
Q: At what age, can my children/grandchildren visit the Garden unaccompanied by an adult?
A: At the Family level and above, children/grandchildren must be 16 to visit the Garden unaccompanied by an adult. If the child brings a guest, they must use a guest pass to cover the guests’ admission.
Q: What is the benefit of a Family Plus membership?
A: The Family Plus membership and above allows the caregiver (Nanny, Babysitter, Grandma/Grandpa, etc.) to bring the members’ children/grandchildren to the Garden in their place, even if two adults are named on the membership.
Simply give your card to the caregiver for the day. If your caregiver wants to bring a guest, they must use a guest pass to cover the guests’ admission.
Please note that caregivers are not allowed to visit without the children unless they are the named secondary on the membership.
Q: I have a Family Plus membership, but I have not received my Botanical Express Ride on Train Tickets. When will I receive them?
A: Botanical Express ride on train tickets are mailed in late October or early November before the trains’ first date of operation for the holiday season. The tickets include the dates and times the train will be operating.
Q: Does the Garden offer a senior, student or teacher discount on memberships?
A: The Garden does not offer a senior, student or teacher discount on memberships at this time.
Q: Does the Garden offer a military discount?
The Garden offers a $2 discount on daily admission for up to four tickets. We do not currently offer a discount on memberships at this time.
Q: Do you offer free or discounted parking?
A: Please refer to Visitor Info for parking rates. You may purchase a multi-visit parking pass in the Atlanta Garden Gift Shop to receive a discount on regular parking rates.
The current parking rate is $2/hour with a maximum of $15/day, versus $3.33 per use for a 6 visit parking pass with no time limit on your daily visit. Your uses do not expire and members receive bonus visits.
Purchasing and reloading parking passes is not available online. Visit the Garden Gift Shop for details on purchasing a new pass or reloading your current one. Please note that a parking pass does not guarantee you a parking space.
Occasionally during popular events, the deck may close for short periods of time until spaces become available. When that occurs, please seek legal off-street parking near the Garden. We also encourage using alternate modes of transportation.
Atlanta is served by the MARTA transit system. Bus #27 stops at the main entrance at 1345 Piedmont Avenue, and Bus #27 may be boarded at either the Midtown or Lindbergh Center train stations.
Charitable Donations / Tax Benefits
Q: Is my Garden membership gift tax-deductible?
A: Yes! For Individual through Contributing 2 year memberships, your gift is 100% tax-deductible. For Supporting and Donor level memberships, the non-deductible portion of your gift is $70;
Director’s Club non-deductible portion is $170; Arbor Circle non-deductible portion is $498; Magnolia Circle non-deductible portion is $532; Orchid Circle non-deductible portion is $566.
Q: Is my membership eligible for a matching grant?
A: Matching grants are a great way for organizations to support the mission of the Garden. Please visit our Matching Grant and Volunteer Grant Resource Page for the latest information regarding your employer’s matching grant program. Also note that matching gifts typically cannot be used to upgrade your membership.
